Taito’s classic Darius soundtrack on vinyl (and we’re giving it away) ⊟
Do you want tunes from Taito’s house band Zuntata remastered, packaged in a cool gatefold cover, and in your record player? I pretty much want to buy a record player for this.
If this describes you, you’ll be thrilled to hear that Ship to Shore PhonoCo has just released a vinyl edition of the soundtrack to the 1987 arcade game Darius, complete with liner notes by noted game journalist/ex-Joystiq brother for life Anthony John Agnello. Here’s a sample to stream!
The record sells for $20 in red or blue editions, but one US-based Tiny Cartridge reader is going to get it for free, because Ship to Shore has offered us one to give away! Comment here with your favorite Taito game and we’ll pick a winner after 11:59pm ET today.

It’s been a while since I’ve used tumblr. Am I doing this right? My mom has a friend from England who named her son Darius, and one day she gave me a SNES cart called “Darius Twin.” I think she picked it because of her son having the same name. That’s all I can guess. However, I have a lot of fond memories of that game.
